About the Position

Our Truck Driver/Set-Up Specialist is responsible for ensuring quality product assembly, proper loading/unloading and the safe operation of a commercial vehicle (van, straight truck, etc.) to deliver customer orders across interstate lines. Accountable for ensuring compliance with safe driving regulations of various states and DOT requirements.

CDL is not required.

Position Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip safety inspection. Responsible for keeping track of vehicle maintenance schedules and keeping truck clean.
• Separate orders that are staged on floor and load onto truck using proper loading techniques.
• Operate 24-foot or larger straight truck and drive across state lines to make the deliveries on date and time specified. Ensure compliance with all DOT and driver policy requirements (completion of driver logbooks, medical certification, cell phone usage, etc.).
• Unload the truck(s); take materials into the centers to the appropriate areas; assemble items and set up classrooms per instructions from the customer or Kaplan representative; dispose of empty cardboard. Supervise temporary staff at customer site when necessary.
• Provide support in the Distribution Center.

Desired Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months warehouse and forklift experience required, one year experience preferred.
• Two years minimum commercial driving experience (truck, van, car) preferred; however, we will train! Valid driver's license with no more than two moving violations within the past three years required. Must be 25 years of age. Class A or B Commercial Driver's License a plus. Light truck driving and/or trailer switching experience preferred.
• Basic reading and writing skills, geographic knowledge and ability to read a map and follow directions required.
• Incumbent must be customer oriented, exhibit good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Detail oriented and possess good problem solving skills.
• Requires the ability to frequently lift up to 75 pounds. Aptitude for light assembly of products required.
• Must be able to work with limited supervision and be willing to work extended hours and weekends.
• Ability to effectively lead, guide and direct temporary labor.
• Position requires extended time away from home of one to two weeks at a time. Current DOT physical or ability to obtain required.

$1,000 Signing Bonus. Please include your desired salary range.
