Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO)

Overview: We are hiring an experienced SSHO to manage site safety on federal construction projects for USACE and NAVFAC. The SSHO ensures full compliance with the Accident Prevention Plan and EM 385-1-1 standards, driving proactive jobsite safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and enforce the Accident Prevention Plan (APP)
• Conduct daily site inspections and lead toolbox talks
• Develop and maintain AHAs and safety documentation
• Coordinate closely with Superintendent and QCM on safety matters
• Conduct incident investigations and maintain OSHA 300 logs
• Maintain SDS library and safety records onsite

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent safety/construction experience
• 10+ years of safety experience in construction (federal preferred)
• SSHO experience on USACE/NAVFAC projects required
• OSHA 30 and relevant safety certifications (e.g., confined space, fall protection)
• 24+ hours/year of formal safety training in the last 4 years
