Job Description

COOK We are looking for an ambitious and skilled Cook to prepare delicious dishes according to the menu. You will cook dishes that will delight our customers with their taste and timely delivery. An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important. A great cook will be quick and diligent. You will be skilled and able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team. Responsibilities: Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces) Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff Answer, report and follow chef's instructions Clean up station and take care of leftover food Stock inventory appropriately Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers Welcome customers and help determine their orders Process customer orders and record them in the POS system Ensure all orders are delivered to the customers in a timely manner Respond to customer inquiries, process payments, issue receipts and change, and record customer suggestions Requirements and Skills: Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks Familiar with industry's best practices Proven experience in a customer service role is an advantage Excellent communication in English and Spanish and interpersonal skills Ability to stand/walk for 8-10 hours per day Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 5-20 lbs. Will often cut, cook, reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music and customer traffic Culinary school diploma is a plus Benefits: Competitive pay and a fun team environment HotLime, Inc.
