Stroudsburg University is hiring a Director of Athletic Events & Facility Operations! Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU’s proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provides convenient access to internships, careers, and social activities. Just minutes from campus are the country’s largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun. As the Director of Athletic Events & Facility Operations, you will need to think creatively and be comfortable ensuring that all logistics of athletics events are precisely executed. You will be an active member of the Athletics team and will work closely with the Director of Athletics to maintain facilities for all ESU intercollegiate athletics sports. You will thrive in this role if you like combining your sports management background and athletic event coordination experience while collaborating with various departments to host successful events. To be successful, you must possess a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to pivot between tasks skillfully. Normal hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with occasional schedule flexibility based on business needs. What Will I Do At ESU? (Essential Duties) Work closely with student-athletes, coaches, faculty, staff, and administrators to provide a first-class experience and meet their needs. Coordinate scheduling with academic departments for use of athletic and associated spaces. Process requests for use of campus spaces for athletic events using EMS. Coordinate services with campus police, food services, physical plant, and maintenance prior to events. Manage event start-up cash and deposit revenue following ESU policies. Create and update master schedules for facilities using EMS. Conduct walkthroughs of outdoor athletic facilities to identify maintenance needs. Supervise and approve hours for staff, work-study, and volunteers. Serve as the primary contact with facilities, food services, physical plant, campus police, and camps and conference services. Coordinate with the Office of Camps and Conferences for space and service arrangements. What We're Looking For (Qualifications) Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management or related field required; Master’s preferred. Experience in athletic event coordination preferred. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to make decisions and solve problems independently. Collaborative work ethic with department and campus personnel. Professional demeanor at all times. Proficiency with Word, Excel, Teams. Must be at least 18 years old and able to read and write English.
