Description GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Manager of Pharmacy Services, the Driver provides proper movement of Pharmacy supplies ensuring timely delivery throughout Allied Services departments and facilities. The Driver is responsible for maintaining transfer tote inventory at the facility and in the pharmacy. The Driver will maintain security of medication, patient information, documents and vehicles.
Assigned duties are implemented in a manner appropriate to the age-specific needs of the individuals served.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE: No previous experience required.
SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Valid PA driver's license required for picking up and delivering supplies off Allied premises.
Must successfully complete Allied's Driver Testing Program, as stated by policy # 2.43.
Minimum of five (5) years driving experience with no violations or accidents within the past four (4) years required.
Experience with driving in all weather and environment conditions (inner city, rural areas, snow, rain, fog, wind, etc.) required.
Experience in vehicle emergency repair and preventative maintenance (PM) i.e., changing tires, checking oil, fluids, and basic PM check list items required.
Knowledge of Northeastern Pennsylvania including Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (streets, etc.) and surrounding area required.
Knowledge and competence in use of cellular phones is required.
Knowledge and competence with basic computer and keyboard skills is required.
Knowledge and competence in using barcode and document scanning technology is required.
Ability to organize and prioritize events required.
Ability to perform mathematical functions (simple calculations) required.
Friendliness and courteous behavior and an attitude of a good corporate citizen when dealing with patients, employees, healthcare workers and the public is required.
Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective communication with employees and external agencies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Medium Work: duties require exerting 25 to 50 lbs. of force occasionally (approx 10-33% of shift), and/or 10-25lbs. of force frequently (approx 33-66% of the time), and/or greater than negligible amount up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects.
Position involves bending, reaching, and stooping (occasionally in strained position) throughout shift.
Ability to transport self throughout facility is required.
Position involves approximately 50% of shift sitting in awkward or cramped positions while driving and approximately 50% of shift handling heavy materials.
Must carry a cellular phone when on-call and during working hours.
ACCIDENT OR HEALTH HAZARDS: Position involves driving Allied vehicles in all weather and environment conditions (inner city, rural areas, snow, rain, fog, wind, etc.).
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works outdoors and in Allied Vehicles during various weather conditions.
Occasional exposure to elements such as dust, fumes, noise and heat.
