This position reports to

Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABBs operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities. The work model for the role is: onsite. This role is contributing to the Process Automation Business. You will be mainly accountable for:

1. Assisting project managers and project lead engineers in technical reviews and discussions with customers, partners, subcontractors, and vendors.
2. Supporting overall system design and testing activities.
3. Supporting the development of detailed engineering documentation including: Single Line Diagrams, Power System Studies (Arc Flash, Load Flow, Short Circuit, etc.), Network Diagrams, Protective Device Settings, and Substation Layouts.
4. Using computer programs to perform various engineering operations.
5. Conducting analyses and providing related data and information.
6. Motivated to troubleshoot and research solutions during the duration while working on projects.
7. Attending training sessions both in person and on the job.

Qualifications for the role

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in electrical engineering in the United States.
• Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
• Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress.
