This range is provided by Studio Munroe, Inc. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more. Base pay range $70,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr Pay Rate: Non-exempt, hourly, with benefits. Commensurate with experience. Benefits: Paid vacation and holidays, Health, Dental, Vision, 401K profit sharing program, annual professional development stipend. Pay Period: 1st and 15th of the month. Position purpose: This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position for a hands-on, positive and reliable Design Assistant to work directly with the Design Team on all aspects of the design process and studio administration. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include but are not limited to: Administrative Responsibilities: Juggle multiple deadlines, project scopes, and aesthetics simultaneously. Manage Design Library maintenance & organization. Manage sample returns. Enter accurate monthly client Design Time information. Client Design and Financial binder filing and organization. Obtain and enter timely Client Order and Purchase Order pricing data in Studio Designer system. Create custom Purchase Order packages for Studio Director distribution. Maintain accurate project action item lists using Asana. Personnel/Human Resources Responsibilities: Collaborate with Studio Assistants on multiple projects; demonstrate effective communication skills. Participate in the training of Studio Assistants. Business Development: Assist Senior Designer and Principal with photoshoot coordination, sourcing, styling, and onsite facilitation. Utilize growing knowledge of trade resources and vendors. Attend industry events, trade shows, and openings. Maintain and grow thoughtful professional relationships with clients and vendors. Assist with social media updates. Client Management: Support the Senior Designer during client meetings, take meeting minutes, create task lists for distribution using Asana. Coordinate project installations and assist as required under Studio Director direction. Create solutions and communicate with vendors and colleagues in the spirit of the firm’s mission and values. Design: Create floor, space, and furniture plans & elevations (Auto-CAD and hand drafting). Source furnishings, fixtures, fabrics, and accessories under direction of Senior Designer. Create schematic client presentation drawings per Senior Designer instructions. Work on custom furniture plans and technical drawings for construction. Prepare client presentations. Communicate with manufacturers and showrooms. Create Construction Schedules with accurate product information for all furniture, plumbing, appliances, lighting, and finishes for Senior Designer review and submission. Maintain project Picture Book with all related item tear sheets, customization notes specifications, and drawings. Work with Studio Director to coordinate expediting process (vendor to warehouse), adhere to project deadlines. Work with Senior Designer to ensure all design hours are within billable quotes. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: Graduate of accredited Interior Design program. 2+ years prior work at an interior design firm. Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and hand-drafting. Experience with Sketch-up, Photoshop. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Professional manner and appearance. Social media savvy. Familiar with San Francisco design showrooms. Work under pressure, produce deliverables, and meet deadlines. Current driver’s license with access to a car. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Most work tasks are performed in a space where the environmental conditions vary widely. Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the property or other areas on a timely basis. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. Must be able to move items weighing in excess of 50 lbs. routinely. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to perform daily tasks. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and subordinates. Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception. Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment. Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate basic design equipment. Must be able to work well under pressure managing multiple deadlines. Ability to work with potential allergenic properties inherent in various materials.
