job summary:

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a major national transportation initiative by managing organizational change within a large-scale fleet replacement program. The Project Manager - Organizational Change Management (OCM) will oversee moderately complex projects or key components of a larger program. Utilizing their technical knowledge and OCM experience, the individual will coordinate change management efforts under the guidance of a senior-level Program or Portfolio Manager. The role involves developing and maintaining change management plans, stakeholder engagement strategies, and communication plans to ensure the smooth implementation of organizational changes across the program.

responsibilities:

  • Apply change management methodologies to support organizational change initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a change management plan throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Create and implement comprehensive communication strategies using various channels.
  • Clearly convey messages to diverse audiences and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Coordinate deliverables according to the communications plan and develop clear messaging.
  • Engage with stakeholders to identify and communicate the impacts of decisions and changes within assigned projects and across the broader program.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external resources and key project stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain essential change management artifacts.

Required Skills & Work Experience:

  • Proficient in organizational change management with relevant experience.
  • strong oral and written communication skills, emphasizing collaboration, team building, presentations, and customer service.
  • strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project).
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of professional management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Skills & Work Experience:

  • Previous experience in project management.
  • Familiarity with railroad systems, practices, and terminology.

qualifications:

  • Organizational Change Management (OCM) Certifications:
    • Prosci Change Management Certification: This is highly regarded and often a preferred credential in OCM.
    • CCMP (Certified Change Management Professional): Another widely recognized and respected certification in the field.
  • Project Management Certifications (Preferred):
    • PMP (Project Management Professional): While not strictly required, a PMP demonstrates strong project management fundamentals, which are beneficial for this role's project-oriented aspects.
    • CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management): A good option for those newer to formal project management.
  • Industry Experience:
    • A minimum of 2+ years of professional management experience is required, with a strong preference for that experience to be directly in organizational change management.
    • Experience working within large-scale programs or initiatives, especially those involving significant technological or operational shifts.
    • Familiarity with transportation, logistics, or large-fleet operations is a plus, particularly any exposure to railroad systems, practices, and terminology.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
