•AdventHealth Minneola's 80-bed hospital will bring inpatient care to the growing population of South Lake County. Spanning approximately 204,000 square feet, the hospital will include an emergency department; full-service imaging; five operating suites; endoscopy services; outpatient laboratory; heart catheterization labs; critical care and general medical/surgical rooms. We are proud to be delivering clinical solutions for the mind, body and spirit in the Minneola community.
The role you'll contribute: Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Primary responsibility is the provision of medication distributive functions and pharmacy operational tasks, which includes but is not limited to assisting the pharmacist with all duties of preparing and dispensing of medications, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. Performs duties necessary for the effective daily operation of all department services and programs. Accurately responds to medication dispensing requests, prepares medications for pharmacist final review/check, delivers checked medications, and returns unused or expired medications to appropriate pharmacy areas. Prepares and organizes pharmacy medications by name and dosage, as listed on patient orders. Supports pharmacists and provides distributive pharmacy services to ensure safe and accurate medication services, supporting all those involved in direct patient care. Works under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, performing delegated duties, tasks, and functions associated with the provision of pharmacy services within the hospital. Additional responsibilities include clinical compliance in sterilization techniques, sample medication oversight and compliance, OSHA requirements, and any other compliance standards required within the clinical realm of the practice. The role embodies a spirit of caring and a commitment to extending the healing ministry by treating every person, every time as if they were a loved one, contributing to an exceptional experience for all through whole-person care. Applicable Pharmacy Technician Registration (RPT) - Required Sterile Compounding Certification, if applicable per applicable legislation - Required Current certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT), or from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
The value you'll bring to the team: - Pharmacy Operations * Actively performs all pharmacy technician functions and maintains active proficiency in standard work parameters, hospital and pharmacy specific computer systems, and operational programs * Maintains operational expertise and competency and actively provides coverage of at least two of the following: * Central/distributive pharmacy operations * Sterile compounding * Decentral/ Automated Dispensing Cabinet delivery pharmacy operations * Controlled substance Handling
- AND at least one of the following: * Hazardous Medication Sterile Compounding * Quality Assurance & USP required sampling * Technician Inventory Check (i.e., tech check tech where authorized) * Medication History * Supporting Clinical Services * Purchasing and Inventory Management
- Maintains knowledge of the following: * Central/Distributive Pharmacy * IV Room/Sterile compounding * Decentral/ Automated Dispensing Cabinet delivery pharmacy operations * Controlled Substances handling
- AND Performs primary job function as: Medication History technician OR Inventory specialist
Qualifications The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed : - High School degree or equivalent
- One year of hospital pharmacy experience
- Applicable State Pharmacy Technician Registration (RPT)
- Current certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), the Institute for the Certification
of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT), or from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
