POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Public Relations Manager is responsible for developing and executing public relations strategies to enhance the Casino Resort's brand and public image. The position will manage media relations, oversee communications campaigns, handle crisis communications, and work closely with the marketing team to ensure brand consistency, while also supporting the planning and execution of select entertainment events that enhance guest experience and visibility. The manager serves as the primary liaison between the resort and media outlets and ensures cohesive messaging across departments. The position will be the key point of contact for media inquiries and will manage the flow of information to the public through various channels, including all staff members from We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

- Provide exceptional guest service to external and internal guests by maintaining and exhibiting the We-Ko-Pa Way: Smile and Greet, Name and Meet, Thank you, and Goodbye.
- Create and implement PR strategies that align with the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort business goals and objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets, journalists, influencers, and stakeholders, including all staff members from We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort.
- Develop and implement crisis management strategies and handle any potential public relations crises.
- Plan and execute PR campaigns to promote products, services, or company milestones.
- Collaborate with internal teams to produce compelling content, including speeches, blogs, social media posts, and presentations.
- Lead social media communication strategies to enhance brand engagement and visibility.
- Monitor media coverage, report on campaign effectiveness, and adjust the strategy based on the insights gained.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including executives and employees, to ensure consistent messaging.
- Protect and enhance the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort brand's image through ongoing reputation management efforts.
- Organize and oversee PR-related events, such as press conferences, community partnerships, and public affairs efforts.
- Maintain accurate PR and event documentation, calendars, and media archives.
- Assist in planning and executing concerts, VIP events, and entertainment experiences that support brand positioning.
- Support contract negotiation and communication with entertainment vendors and talent.
- Coordinate event logistics and branding in collaboration with the entertainment and marketing operations teams.
- Ensure entertainment events reinforce positive public perception and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and tribal communications and advertising regulations.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in public relations, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations or strategic communications required.
- Demonstrated success in media outreach, crisis management, and reputation management.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with media databases, PR analytics tools, and social media platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines under pressure.
- Experience in the entertainment or hospitality industry is a plus.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Must obtain and maintain a State/Tribal License (includes extensive background check).
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds and push or pull 40 pounds
