The Sanitation Technician will be responsible for performing sanitation duties at our Cherokee Cultivation Facility. This role involves executing daily cleaning tasks in and outside the cultivation rooms to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant environment. The Sanitation Technician will follow the direction of the supervisors, adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ensure all sanitation practices comply with safety and regulatory standards specific to the location. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with GMP compliance standards and have experience in sanitation or cleaning roles, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and surfaces according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to prevent contamination and ensure operational efficiency.
- Assist in the proper disposal of waste, including cannabis byproducts and general waste, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor the usage of cleaning supplies and chemicals and report inventory needs to the Supervisor.
- Ensure safe storage and proper labeling of all cleaning chemicals and supplies in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Work closely with the Sanitation Lead and other team members to ensure smooth and efficient sanitation operations.
- Participate in team meetings and provide feedback on potential improvements to sanitation processes and SOPs.
- Assist other departments with additional tasks as needed to support overall facility operations and goals.
Qualifications and Education :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 21 years of age, with the ability to obtain a Missouri State Agent ID.
- Prior experience in sanitation, janitorial, or custodial roles is preferred.
- Basic understanding of sanitation practices, cleaning protocols, and safety standards, especially in regulated environments such as cannabis, food, or pharmaceuticals.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Essential Job Functions - Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time (i.e., sweeping, mopping, scrubbing).
- Physical requirements include standing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing and working above shoulder height for extended periods, reaching across 4ft wide trays while standing, sliding under trays on creepers to perform maintenance, pushing carts and wheelbarrows, carrying flats and pots.
- Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
- Physical ability to wear respirator, tyvek suit, gloves and other PPE as needed
- Ability to work weekends and outside of business hours as necessary.
Compensation and Benefits :
- $16.50+ per hour commensurate with experience
