Description The National WWII Museum is currently seeking a Senior Director of Leadership Education. The Senior Director of Leadership Education will create, develop, and execute world-class leadership education, training and development programs, which will serve as the foundation for the Sanderson Leadership Center’s daily operations. This position will involve substantial opportunity for both vision and execution as the Center begins its design process, conducts initial proof of concept, and transitions into full operational status. The ideal candidate is an accomplished, high-energy leader who has experience training and educating managers and leaders at all levels, and who has a proven history of designing and implementing leadership development training and strategies, including through experiential learning. The Senior Director of Leadership Education will report to the Executive Director of the Sanderson Leadership Center and will serve as the primary adviser on the delivery of leadership development content and educational programs at the Center. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement the SLC’s leader training and education programs. Design leader education content and curriculum tailored to a variety of diverse audiences (executive, military, youth) to achieve Museum goals for the Center and promote its mission. Consult with Museum and Center patrons from the business, academic, government, and military sectors to understand their leadership and management development needs, current trends, and program pricing. Deliver best-in-class leadership education programs and experiences to SLC patrons. Participate in the development of simulation exercises based on WWII history and scenarios. Participate in the development of supporting technology (simulations, audio-visual technology, scenarios) to enable the Center’s leadership education programs. Leverage multiple delivery methods to tailor the Center’s programs to the needs of its various participants. Track and drive measures of success/impact and evaluate SLC programs and participant experience for future refinement. Manage the full range of administrative duties related to the above functions and responsibilities, including budget and timelines. Requirements Qualifications 5-10 years of experience working in Executive Leadership Development and/or related discipline. Master’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Organizational Behavior, Leadership Development/Training or Coaching, Communications, Psychology, or equivalent combination of experience and education. An experienced practitioner in the executive leadership development field with a natural curiosity for innovatively leveraging leading edge practices across multiple fields and industries, as well as the government and the military. Demonstrated performance in executive leadership development strategy, curriculum design, execution, and implementation. Strong communication, public speaking and stakeholder management skills; executive coaching experience is required. An understanding of the American role in WWII and the varied dimensions of American leadership throughout the war effort, both at home and abroad, and their relevance today. Excellent customer service skills, including interpersonal skills, presentation, and written communication skills. Takes initiative, possess good organizational and analytical skills, with marked attention to detail, and exercises good judgment. Ability to interact effectively and diplomatically with internal and external constituencies and prospective clients.
