Your Next Career Opportunity – Senior Director, Tax - International

Manage and oversee the filing and preparation of tax returns and tax related issues for non-US subsidiaries and activities.

What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop expertise in tax regimes and rules across all international markets the company operates in and all international markets being considered for expansion by the company
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation around international tax regimes and tax mitigation strategies used for tax planning and ensuring that the company is in compliance.
  • Lead all activities related to its foreign operations, including all foreign tax and US international tax planning including acquisitions, mitigation of tax risk and worldwide effective tax rate management strategy.
  • Review the IRS Forms 5471, 1118 and other forms and statements required on the US tax return in relation to non-US subsidiaries and activities, make any necessary changes and file the income tax returns. .
  • Review withholding tax issues and intercompany transactions, in order to avoid contingencies by validating the correct withholding tax calculated by third parties. The purpose of this review is to ensure taxes on intercompany transactions are reported according to each country's law to minimize audit risk Research and evaluate cross border permanent establishment exposures and/or risk mitigation, in order to avoid tax contingencies by making sure SBA is in compliance with the law.
  • Review U.S. Subpart F exposure by ensuring income is reported properly and in the required timeframe in collaboration with the domestic tax department. Lead and execute decisions for cash repatriation planning and ensure the internal cash repatriation policy is followed, based on the review.
  • Ensure compliance with transfer pricing standards and manage all aspects of transfer pricing including cost sharing agreements and other intercompany charges. Compliance is ensured by researching new legislation, providing oversight and supervision to the team, requesting and reviewing pertinent information, and remaining up to date on international regulations.
  • Monitor and review foreign tax audits to ensure responses to tax authorities, prepared by the local finance teams or external advisors, are presented on time with the adequate information. Review local statutory tax filings and management of third party local accounting firms, to ensure the tax filings contain the correct information. If any changes to the reporting are needed, send request to the local accountant to modify the information included in the tax filing. Review of reporting/disclosures for completed acquisitions, to ensure all filings are performed.
  • Review income tax provision and prepare tax related disclosures included in SEC filings.
  • Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends and tax developments and working with our service providers.
  • Review BEPS reporting filings. Research new tax updates that could impact our US or local requirements and filings in order to file the report.
  • Monitor case law and tax legislation, and advise of the potential impact any changes may have on the Company.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Work with Talent Acquisition to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ a talented and diverse group of high performing team members.
  • Provide oversight and direction to team members in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Coach, mentor and develop team members, including overseeing new team member onboarding and providing career development planning and growth opportunities.
  • Empower team members to take ownership of their job and goals. Delegate responsibilities as needed and provide routine constructive feedback on performance.

What You'll Need – Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting;
    • and 10+ years of corporate tax experience, in the tax department of a publicly held company, accounting firm, or law firm. Experience in the tax aspects of acquisitions and divestitures, including due diligence and post-merger integration. Broad exposure to international taxation required. Prior management experience, leading a team, required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
