Job Description
Labcorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join their Laboratory Robotics Operator team in **Phoenix, AZ** . The Sr. Propel Robotics Operator will be responsible for processing clinical specimen for acceptability and maintain the operational condition of the automated instrument to deliver to the testing departments in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures.
Work Schedule: **11:00 pm - 7:30 am**

**Job Responsibilities**
+ Performs tasks of a Propel "Super User". Responsible for startup and shut down of Propel in the absence of engineer or direct supervision.
+ Assist in training and the development of training materials to improve quality, processes and lessen cycle time for less experienced team members. Collaborate with engineers, supervisors and team leaders to enhance procedures and training methods.
+ Produce email and written communication on the performance of the instrument and department. Complete IT Central tickets as needed to ensure nightly completion of work. Documenting the consumables needed to operate the system (device). Complete all documents related to the operation of the system (device).
+ Introduce and prepare biological specimens to the laboratory to ensure accurate processing
+ Open specimens and pour off into secondary containers to prepare for analysis and testing
+ Verify patient demographic information matches the test requisition form submitted
+ Data entry of patient information into the computer system for tracking purposes
+ Meet key production metrics and quality measures to ensure timely and accurate results
+ Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
+ Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities when required
+ Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
+ Resolve and document any problem specimens
+ Handle and dispose of medical and chemical waste
+ Operate automated instrumentation under supervision if necessary
**Requirements**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ 1+ years of experience working in a medical laboratory environment
+ Previous experience using automated specimen management equipment is a plus
+ Proficient computer and typing skills
+ Must pass standardized color vision test
+ Comfortable handling human biological specimens including blood, urine and tissue samples
+ Ability to lift up to 30lbs, work in protective equipment and sit/stand for long periods of time
+ Strong eye hand coordination in order to accurately identify specimens by touch and sight
+ Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
+ High level of attention to detail with the ability to problem solve
+ Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
+ Ability to work overtime when needed

Responsible for the accurate receipt and processing of samples for the laboratories. Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical Propel systems, resolve and or accurately report these as necessary. Prep and dismantle Propel department, triage samples, resolve all sample issues, resolve instrument dialogs, meet departmental deadlines. Collaborate with various laboratory department to ensure optimal workflow throughout the laboratory. Exercise analytical, problem-solving and communication skills and demonstrate the ability to make sound judgments regarding the processing of specimen samples. Work independently and take ownership of on-site service responsibilities, must work well under minimal managerial direction to maintain production, troubleshoot issues, and meet deadlines to make required Turn Around Time.
