Job Description

The heart of Prellis Bio strategy is the combination of novel, cutting edge methods in machine learning, biology at scale and next gen antibody discovery that address key bottlenecks in the drug development pipeline. To accomplish that, we are putting together an incredible team of discovery biologists, computational scientists, and protein scientists who want to make a difference to this important problem. In this role, you will support the design, development, validation, and implementation of screening assays as well as being a subject matter expert in the Immunology / Autoimmunity field. You will play a key role in identifying Prellis’s large molecule therapeutics by supporting discovery and non-GLP preclinical studies. You will also be responsible to hire and manage outside service partnerships.

You will report to the VP Biology and work a hybrid schedule at our headquarters in Berkeley, CA.

Your primary responsibilities will include :

  • Demonstrated expertise in the development, validation, and oversight of cell based functional assays for assessing in vitro potency of Prellis antibodies
  • Knowledge of relevant animal disease models a plus
  • Experience identifying and assessing potential drug targets in the fields of Immunology and / or Inflammation
  • Experience managing a laboratory of both PhD and non-PhD scientists
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to assist in assay development, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects, strong verbal and written communication skills with a high degree of motivation, creativity and collaborative qualities.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds and job functions, including a track record of collaborating with life scientists

About You

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, or a related field with 1-3 years industrial or postdoctoral experience or
  • Master’s degree and 5 years of scientific / technical experience or
  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of scientific / technical experience

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
