These are the major functions and accountabilities required of the position and are the predominant criteria by which performance will be assessed; but will also be responsible for other duties as assigned. Equipment breakdowns: Taking calls from drivers/customers on equipment issues is our top priority. These may be roadside, in a shop or a dealership. You will be responsible for vendor selection and cost negotiation for tires, parts and service to operate cost effectively. All information, pertinent to each breakdown, will be entered into the Dossier application and the Road Call spreadsheet for effective tracking and communication during the repair process. Work closely with other members of the Maintenance department in strategic planning and organizing. Communicate breakdowns, accidents, and incidents promptly to fellow Coordinators, Operations, Safety, Customer Service and our Customers. Troubleshoot mechanical problems over the phone, via email, and/or ELD macro submissions. Work closely with drivers, vendors, and company shops to complete repairs. Support shops when needed to help them offer timely service to the drivers and customers. Determining warranty coverage application on a case-by-case basis, following warranty guidelines to reduce out of pocket expenses. Enter vendor repair orders accurately to record repair history by VMRS codes, track costs, save invoices & inspections, and process purchase orders for vendor payment. ELD support with drivers regarding load info, driver submitted breakdown macros and E-logs HOS. Offer after hours support in helping drivers with ELD support, load info, fuel card issues, hotel & rental cars setups, obtain permits & registrations, etc. Experience and Skill Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in the area of tractor and trailer maintenance. Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft programs. Must have good communication skills both oral and written. Ability to multi-task and solve problems with little or no guidance. Have a close eye for detail and cost management. Be able to relate to the needs of the drivers, customer, operations, and other related depts. Also, be able to effectively communicate the needs to others in and out of the company. Must maintain a professional attitude and demeanor in all forms of communications. This also applies to all drivers, vendors, and employees of the company. Goal and task oriented. Self-motivated. Must deal effectively with a wide variety of needs requiring Emergency Road Service assistance, and follow through until repairs are complete, charges have been paid, and equipment has been dispatched.
