Job Title Monitor Minibus Reports To SPED Transportation Coordinator Guidance From SPED Transportation Coordinator, Transportation Director, District Administration and Support Staff, SPED Director, Assistant Superintendent Overtime Status Compliant with position, salary and FLSA regulations Job Purpose The purpose of the Monitor Minibus is to assist the minibus driver when requested or required, ensuring the safe and effective transportation of students. Responsibilities Assist students with loading and unloading Support the driver during backing and route navigation Monitor students’ behavior and well-being during routes Respond to students’ needs and emergencies Ensure safety protocols, including securing wheelchairs and other equipment Assist with emergency evacuation drills Maintain bus cleanliness and safety Report incidents and observations to the supervisor Participate in staff meetings and trainings Follow district policies and confidentiality requirements Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED CDL certification required within 6 months Physical Demands Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands Work Environment Active school campus, inside and outside Noise levels vary from low to high Terms of Employment As established by the Rankin County Board of Education, including salary, days, and work year. Evaluation Performance will be evaluated according to district policies.
